Olive growing
The Olive tree, since the beginning of my career and still growing, was my constant agronomic interest, the nudge that brought me to sharpen new pruning’s techniques until I published a book.
Why the Olive tree?
Because among the income’s arboreal plants, I identify the olive trees as fascinating and complicated to grow in economics and scenic terms. Olive tree pruning has a crucial influence on the total production pathway and at the same time is really complex. Those elements were and are actually, combined with all of my passion for the olive trees, the load-touring tow for my career.
My background
At the end of the nineties after varied specialized seminars, I decided to deal with olive trees' pruning techniques. From 1999 to the present I have been teaching in several olive trees’ pruning classes in Tuscany and in other regions at oil mills and productors' association, other than giving personal education courses in several farms. Being a teacher and a technical manager of olive groves, allowed me throughout the years, to refine a personal working method named “COLP METHOD” Knowledge(Conoscenza), Observe (Osservazione), Reading( Lettura), Pruning (Potatura).
